#10 Google

It is common that many different internet sites get hacked daily, but this was a new kind of hacking. Someone was trying to break into the Google system not only to mess with the website but to find information about the people who use Google. This person knew exactly what they wanted to find out about people and it just so happens that the hacking took place in China. They wanted to get into the accounts for the people of the chinese human rights activist. They also found out that the accounts of people living in different countries that have to do the with the chinese human rights were also accessed.

Usually problems like this are not scared to the public so they will not have loss of customers or to scare people off but Google felt that this issue should be shared with the people. This way people can know what was going on and not that it was any fault by google but that it was the fault of these Chinese people who broke into the system. The people who head up Google will be having meeting with people over in China to discuss weather or not they should keep Google operating over there like it is now.

The thing that I liked about this project was that there was a lot of freedom with it. You could have done anything from just one word to many words and all of it could work for the project.

#8 Privacy on Facebook

I think the new privacy setting that Facebook is now using is a good idea but they just ‘ do a very goof job of informing it. Facebook just kind of sent out a message about the security system but never really told enough about what the default setting were. Now the default setting that most people are on, show all information and pictures about the profile instead of just people in your selected networks. Facebook used to be known as the safer and more private internet system unlike myspace where many people can just look at your page and send you messages. Facebook is starting to lose the respect of having privacy be the main concern. I think in order to win the respect of the media and most importantly the people back, Facebook should send out help and more information on its new setting and show people where they can change their setting and make them more private. Once this occurs people will get used to the new system and everything will go back to normal.

#7 Semantic Web

The semantic web is a very different and unique internet site. It is unlike the other webs because it is all operated by

people instead of just operating itself. It requires that someone be operating the system at all times or else it will

simply fail. The semantic web’s main focus is more on machines rather than people like the other sources. It is for

machines so therefore it wouldn’t work to well if you had one machine operating another one. These web sites are

designed specifically for people to read and get information right from the source.

The Semantic Web is not used by your average everyday people but more like the scientist and people who have a very

high-tech job that requires special defines searches. It can help the researches find everything they need then

combine them all together and send it out to different machines. This process can save people so much time and once

you know how to use it, it’s not that complicated. The inventor and creditor of the Semantic Web is Sir Timothy John

Berners-Lee who still has the idea of turning all the web pages into one single source. This was everything is contained

together and he feels it will be more convenient for all of the people using this product. The Semantic Web has proven

itself to be a very useful piece of technology today.

I think framers used a copyright back when they were writing the Constitution because they didnt want anyone stealing their rules and ideas that was set for our country. They felt that every country should have all of their own sets of rules and rights for their own country. They should each take the time to talk and write them all out instead of just taking them from another country because they liked it and it was less work. Also it would now be known who wrote the Constitution and it would be protected against anyone stealing what was written for that document.

Thomas Jefferson influenced early copyright philosophy because he believed in everything being owned and he wanted to be able to have his rights on everything that was his. He wanted everyone to know which land and houses he owned so no one would second guess whose it was.

I think a copyright was a great idea because it protects the projects and ideas that people make so no one can steal them. Nothing can be worse than thinking of this great idea and then someone else stealing it from you and making the millions of dollars that you could have made yourself. It protects all the rights for the people.

#5 The Importance of Color

Color is a very important aspect in the world. It gives life to different animals and people along with controlling peoples’ emotions. Different colors can means different things in cultures. Like for instance in one culture red could mean love and in another it means war. The color pink can make someone feel warm and happy or for other people sad. It all depends on the people and they way that they have viewed the color their whole life.

Color is also used to express yourself. You can be wearing bright colors and feeling happy or dark and deep colors when feeling sad or quiet. Color os everywhere and it is always giving people signs or a hint. Like is you see and red octagon you know automatically that its a stop sign without having to read the sign. Colors can make something exciting and bring a whole new life to things. It can make people more aware to their surroundings and can get their attention a lot easier and faster. Overall color is a daily necessity in the world and it had a huge contribution and impact on people.

#4 Network Neutrality

Network neutrality is the network that is proposed to be used by all boradband networks. It is a special type of internet that you pay extra for but you have better quality. For instance you dont have any adds or pop ups that come up and it is a restriction free internet. When this type of internet came out not many people knew what it was or had really heard about it. They didnt want to risk messing up their whole compoter ststem for something that they didnt know much about. It finllay started to become popular in the early 2000s.

When it started to uprise more companies started looking more into it and seeing what was really behind this program. They discovered that it needs a lot of attention from hardware, cable, and communications. Then people started to wonder if this program was really worth it. The network then became known as just waiting for a problem. People didnt think this program would last long and if too many people got it they wouldnt be able to keep up with all of the demmands and problems that it would have. The program wasnt fully sataified to the liking of people.

#3 People of Walmart

I think that this is both a good and bad site at the same time. In one way it does provide good entertainment for people to look at and laugh about. It shows all the weird things that people do and wear and in this case at or around Walmart. It can be bad because the people can get offened if they see their picture on here and there picture is on the internet without their permission. I think it would be fine to post these pictures of they didnt directly show the faces of the people becuase that way they cant funny prove it is them in the picture.

I think this use of technology is negative becuase it is showing the stupid and weird things that everyday people would not normally do. Its just putting the people down and showing theird flaws. They could have just been having a bad day and quickly needed to go out and grab something.

I think our society could use the internet for good by simply posting information that would be useful for people. If people need help on knowing where to get something or have a question they could just go to a site and get the information that they need.

#2 The Origins of the Internet

The browsers that are available today for the users of Windows, Mac, and Linux are Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. All of these web browsers work great it just all depends on what kind of computer you are using. For example Safari is the internet that is used specially for just Macs, while PCs use use internet explorer.

Usually the internet on all phones will automatically connest you to its interney source of Internet Exploerer. This internet is most commonly used by people and is the easiest to get acces from your phones and what not. The Iphones use Wifi because it is the wireless internet which able you to be out and you can still access your internet.

The W3 C was invented in 1994 by Tim Berners-Lee. This progrma allowed them to oversee all of the content that was being made for the internet. This was soon enough everyone w0uld be ablt to have access to this new Internet. Soon the W3C begane writing up rules or recomendations that they felt each Internet site should have. They wanted to make this as efficient and easy for people as possible.

#1 Jquery

Jquery is like JavaScript that interacts between the HTML and the Javascript. It is not as complicated as Java so to

some people it is easier to use. John Resig develpoed this program when he was at NYC. He deveopled it so you can

use this promgram on your own websites. Now the poeple running Jquery have both an General Public License and a

MIT licesne. This the everyone is smart and knows how to control and work this program. Jquery is on the rise

especially for the not as tech people. A source that can be lined to the Jquery would be the SMARTIS. This promgram

is designed with the bigger companies in mind. I think that in the future this promgram will continue to grow along

with many more programs like it that will also be very useful. As the years keep going more and more useful pieces of

technology are being developed.Since the first version of Jquery has been developed there have been new updated

versions of it. The new version is called Jquery UI 1.7. It is the latest version and you can build it upon other web

applications. New versions of this program are constantly being developed amd who knows what new ideas they will

come up with next.
